Here, folks, is an excerpt from the sessions when the Beatles recorded "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" in late 1963. The orchestra master is clearly Paul McCartney, and he doesn't brook dispute. His vision is clear, and just as well. America was soon to fall for the music...

Lennon seems to suggest doing the song more slowly, as they try to get the start right. McCartney tells Harrison (Lennon?) to hit harder on the intial figure, then let up a bit. Amazing.
